Lighting Practice
In this lesson we learnt about the different ways lighting effects how your camera shots will turn out. Our first example of this is 3-point lighting, it is very commonly used in theatre, film, photography and video production. It consists of a key light, fill light and backlight, which perfectly creates depth and dimension, provides clear visibility and and a polished look.
Secondly, we practiced shadowing, this can establish mood, particularly in a thriller, it defines the shape and forms an object, directs viewers attention and creates an atmosphere. Hence why it is used in thrillers and suspenseful movies a lot. We also tried moving our subject close vs far away from the camera, in order to make her shadow look bigger/smaller.
